CIW Support Worker
Support Workers are compassionate, dedicated team members who deliver personalised, hands-on care while fostering meaningful connections with young people.
While prior experience is not required, Support Workers are expected to obtain a Level 2 qualification within three years of beginning their role.
After successfully completing the probationary period, Support Workers can pursue the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Health & Social Care Practice – Children & Young People
- Level 3 Health & Social Care Practice – Children & Young People
CIW Area Manager
A skilled and reliable leader who oversees and supports multiple homes in an area, helping to develop managers and ensures care remains aligned with our core values.
Area Managers must already hold a Level 5 qualification and a minimum of three years’ experience when applying for this role.
CIW Regional Manager
A Regional Manager is a strategic and experienced leader who oversees multiple homes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, quality and innovation, and mentoring others to lead with compassion.
Regional Managers must already hold a Level 5 qualification for this role and a minimum of five years’ experience.
CIW House Manager
A House Manager should be a confident leader who fosters a safe and supportive atmosphere where both young individuals and staff can flourish.
House Managers should already hold a Level 4 qualification for this role and be working towards a Level 5 qualification.
Once they’ve completed the probationary period, House Managers have the opportunity to gain their Level 5 qualification.

CIW Deputy House Manager
A Deputy House Manager should be an encouraging team member who has built strong relationships and is actively developing their leadership skills.
Deputy House Managers must already hold a Level 3 qualification to qualify for this role.
After successfully completing their probationary period, Deputy House Managers can pursue their Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications.

Ofsted Support Worker

Level 2 Health & Social Care Practice
This qualification introduces learners to the core principles and values underpinning health and social care practice, specifically for children and young people. It covers topics such as safeguarding, health and well-being, professional practice, and health and safety. The course is suitable for individuals aged 16+ who are new to the sector or seeking to work in roles like healthcare support workers or social care assistants. It serves as a foundation for further study or employment within health and social care.
Level 3 Health & Social Care Practice
This practice-based qualification assesses learners’ knowledge and competence in the workplace, focusing on settings involving children and young people, such as residential child care or foster care. It includes both mandatory content and optional units, allowing learners to enrich their skills in areas like child-centred approaches and safeguarding. Completion of this qualification enables learners to work as qualified Level 3 practitioners with children and young people.
Level 4 Professional Practice in Health & Social Care
Designed for individuals aiming to develop their knowledge and skills required for professional practice within health or social care settings, this qualification offers various pathways, including leading practice with individuals living with mental ill-health, dementia, or disabilities. Assessment includes a portfolio of evidence, a project with written tasks, and professional discussions. It provides progression opportunities for those who have completed Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care.
Level 4 Preparing for Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care
This qualification supports aspiring staff transitioning into management roles within the health and social care sector. It covers legislation, theories and models of person/child-centred practice, theoretical frameworks for leadership and management, and effective team performance. Assessment involves a project with a written report, presentation, and discussion, along with a series of tasks requiring oral and written responses. The course serves as a stepping stone to Level 5 qualifications and meets registration requirements for Social Care Wales.
Level 5 Leadership & Management of Health & Social Care Practice
Aimed at individuals in senior or managerial roles within the health and social care sector, this practice-based qualification develops knowledge, understanding, behaviours, and skills required for leadership and management. It includes mandatory units on leading and managing service quality, safeguarding, and health and safety, along with optional units tailored to specific settings. The qualification requires a minimum of 120 credits and is suitable for those who have completed an appropriate Level 4 qualification.

Ensure routines, boundaries, and expectations are followed and support safe practice.

Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
This includes staff support, rotas, supervision, quality, and safeguarding.
Registered Manager
Lead the service
Take overall responsibility for the home.
Ensure high standards of care, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, and strong leadership.
Area Manager
Lead across services
Provide oversight across multiple homes.
Support Registered Managers, monitor quality and consistency, and ensure standards are met across services.
