Overview:

  • Title: Children Respite Support Worker
  • Pay: £16 per hour (+ £60 Sleep-In Rate)
  • Location: Newport & Surrounding Areas
  • Type of Employment: Full time, Part time & Flexible working
  • Shifts: We can offer a range of shifts including: 2 long days + 2 sleep-ins → 4 days off, as well as shorter domiciliary style respite shifts within young people’s own home.
  • Immediate starts available

We provide community-based respite and outreach support to children and young people, helping to prevent family breakdown and reduce the need for children to enter the care system.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting children and young people within their family homes and communities
  • Assisting with school runs, routines and appointments
  • Supporting attendance at activities, clubs and social events
  • Providing respite support during evenings, weekends and school holidays
  • Supporting children on day trips, short breaks and holidays
  • Building positive relationships with children, families and professionals
  • Promoting independence, confidence and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience within residential childcare, family support, education, youth work or SEN settings
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
  • Caring, compassionate and reliable
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Right to work in the UK
